Sunset on the east coast……

…………………….Yes slightly weird to say sunset on the east coast, nonetheless given Norfolk’s unique shape in the UK there is a small strip of coast where you can watch the sunset over the sea, so you can theoretically watch the sunrise and sunset over the sea with a short trip along the coast. During the summer we made such a trip to watch the sunset with our friends and I had the opportunity to take some lovely photos.

Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge Sculptures

I haven’t posted in a while, very tired and in a lot of pain, so everything has been a struggle. This challenge grabbed me though. We are lucky to live near a beautiful forest that has many beautiful carvings and sculptures made from wood including most of the play equipment.

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge – Rocks

The current black and white challenge is Rocks instantly one image sprung to my mind as it is on a 70cm by 50cm canvas on our wall as a reminder of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. It is of Sigiriya Rock (or Lion’s Rock) and what some call the 8th Wonder of the World. You can climb the Rock and there is a temple at the top. Unfortunately even back then my pain and disability was such that it was not feasible for me to climb it, which was a real heartbreak at the time for me, although not my wife as she dislikes height and you climb the outside of it some 660ft and 1200 steps. I have left one photo showing the colour of the trees all around and one the colours of the rock as it is spectacular.

Following on from this I was reminded of a day trip to Felixstowe, Suffolk, UK in 2014 when we took granny (now nearly 92) out for the last day trip we managed to get her out on. I got some lovely photos of the rock formations that form part of the sea defences.

Sunday 9th October 2016

With October comes the cold weather, rain fall, wind, shorter days and everything that makes me want to crawl under the duvet and hibernate away from the world until warmer weather brings fractionally less pain.

It is however important to remember that even on those bad days there is unexpected beauty, today for example, whilst we watched Heroes in a Half Shell, Rainbow Dash did a flyby

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge – Liquid

For this weeks challenge I was really lucky to have captured an image of a penguin recently underwater that fits nicely with the Liquid theme of the Black and White Photo Challenge. In the first image I love the blue reflection of the sky so decided not to edit too much of it out, fear of disqualification though I thought I better have my 2nd image totally converted to Black & white. I hope you enjoy

Sunday 2nd October 2016

I spent the day yesterday with my family and some of our closest friends (or some of the select group of our friends we consider to be family). This gave me the opportunity to take some photos of some of my favourite subjects, the magnificent creatures that inhabit our planet, if only my images were as lovely as these look in real life.

Cee’s odd ball photo challenge Week 39

This week my entry for Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge is courtesy of my recent visit to Colchester Zoo, walking well wheeling around the otter and flamingo enclosures I was drawn not to the animals (who were beautiful and did get photographed) but to the way some of the trees had wrapped there way through and around the walkway fencing. It must have happened over many years and to me just goes to show that if the will or desire is strong enough you can survive and get through or round or over anything. I guess it spoke to me as I have a strong will to carry on regardless of my pain and disability. It isn’t always easy, and there are days I don’t feel like I’m winning but life goes on, even around a man made obstacle.

Sunday 25th September 2016

Today we helped our 3 year old with homework – well home learning as they call it! I haven’t done this justice though as I have to say I think it was a good thing as a)it is not compulsory b) it is not marked, c) it does give you some really good pointers for things to talk to your children about and d) it feeds in to the classroom learning for the following week. We were speaking about how colours blend to make other colours and the first signs of Autumn.

Today we put part of the wheelchair together and my wife struggled to get me through the gate at Becketswell. From there we took some photos of our LG in and around the trees, and I noticed an engraving on a bench my LG was jumping off, something I had never noticed before. I wonder what the link to Wymondham is?

14th September 2016

It has been far too long since I have had my camera out and taken photos but today a trip to a local Zoo was the ideal opportunity, my favourite animals are on my sister blog Seachy Waffles On I have decided on here to share one of my favourite images of the day. Watching the Giraffes being fed for the first time (previously the lift has been out of order) I managed to get this image of the Giraffe and their extraordinary long tongue
